VisualMED Clinical Solutions Corp.: System Implementation On Track

MONTREAL, Apr 25, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- VisualMED Clinical Solutions Corp. (OTC BULLETIN BOARD:VMCS) announces today that the installation of its flagship Clinical Information System, the VisualMED Suite of Clinical Modules, is well underway at Southwest Rehabilitation Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. The system includes a complete Electronic Medical Record, and the latest Computerized Physician Order Entry module with full clinical decision support. The rapid progress is also due to the full support of hospital administration and medical staff. The Company anticipates completing implementation ahead of schedule, and is set to go live on September 1 at the latest.

"We are extremely pleased with the progress of this implementation," says Barry Scharf, Chief Operating Officer. "Not only have we put together an affordable, comprehensive package for this client hospital, but the process of getting all the information and components together is going along very smoothly."

Interfaces from the VisualMED Suite of Clinical Modules to ADT, billing and laboratory systems are proceeding at a fast pace, while system designers, in consultation with the hospital's Information Technology staff, have already defined the parameters of all hardware and network configurations. Hospital Department heads have forwarded all of the current patient-care documentation samples to VisualMED, of which one third have already been formatted electronically.

The hardware purchases will be completed by the end of the month, at which time the complete VisualMED software will be downloaded, at the Company's head offices in Montreal, for final certification prior to delivery and on-site installation.

Says Chairman and CEO Gerard Dab: "The quick progress with Southwest Rehabilitation Hospital is encouraging. Three short years ago, not many people even knew what CPOE was, and now we are able to effect the total installation and implementation of a small hospital within six months from the signing of a contract."

Interest in CPOE continues to rise in the US. VisualMED is currently engaged in discussions with more than 20 small private hospitals and has been invited to submit a proposal for a multi hospital project. "Our ability to implement quickly and efficiently is definitely helping attract business," concludes Gerard Dab.

The VisualMED Suite of Clinical Modules continues to run at peak efficiency at Physicians Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Doctors and administration are pleased with the system, and the hospital remains one of very few in the world that may rightly claim to be close to entirely "paperless." Most important, aside from scheduled upgrades and maintenance, the system has had zero actual downtime, meaning treatment and clinical care has been uninterrupted since the system went operational in June 2004.
